Pre-K through Grade 5

Learning at BrightPeaks.

Our planned Pre-K–5 program connects STEAM education with strong academic foundations, appropriate challenge for advanced and gifted learners, and character education.

Our planned learning approach is based on Fulton Science Academy’s educational model. Final program details will be announced before opening.
Advanced and gifted learning

Challenge that responds to the child.

Advanced and gifted learners need opportunities to extend their thinking while building the foundations that make deeper learning possible. They also need encouragement, friendship, and room to develop at their own pace.

BrightPeaks is being designed to hold those needs together: rigorous learning, responsive teaching, creative exploration, and a supportive school culture.

One connected learning experience

Connecting subjects through real questions.

Our planned approach connects inquiry, creativity, and strong academic foundations across subjects. Illustrative learning experiences might include:

Investigate & explain

Explore a scientific question, record observations, and use evidence to explain an idea through writing and discussion.

Design & express

Use patterns, shapes, and materials to create, test, revise, and communicate a design or artistic idea.

Collaborate & reflect

Listen to different perspectives, contribute to shared work, and reflect on the choices that strengthen a team.

These examples illustrate the intended approach. Final curriculum resources and program offerings will be announced.

Pre-K through Grade 5

From Pre-K through Grade 5.

Pre-K

Wonder, language, early foundations, and belonging, with developmentally appropriate opportunities to explore and create.

Kindergarten–Grade 2

Strong reading, writing, and mathematical foundations alongside inquiry, artistic expression, and growing independence.

Grades 3–5

Greater depth, reasoning, communication, and ownership, with opportunities to connect ideas and learn collaboratively.

These are intended developmental priorities. Admissions and placement consider readiness; specific curriculum resources and schedules will be announced.

Reading, writing, and mathematics.

Strong reading, writing, and mathematical thinking support every part of learning. They also build the foundations for college preparation as BrightPeaks grows through Grade 12. Our planned instruction emphasizes understanding, reasoning, and clear communication.

  • Literacy that connects reading, writing, vocabulary, and ideas.
  • Mathematics that builds conceptual understanding and problem-solving.
  • Responsive challenge and support informed by each learner’s progress.

02 / STEAM education, research & innovation

Learning through investigation.

STEAM education brings science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics together through investigation and design. Our planned approach encourages children to ask research questions, gather evidence, test ideas, and improve their work.

  • Observe, investigate, gather evidence, and explain.
  • Design, create, test, and refine ideas.
  • Use technology to document findings and communicate the thinking behind a solution.

03 / Arts, expression & imagination

Making, practicing, and performing.

The arts are a vital part of the BrightPeaks vision. Creating, performing, observing, and reflecting help children develop their voices and see ideas from new perspectives.

  • Explore visual and performing arts as meaningful disciplines.
  • Connect creative thinking with scientific and mathematical ideas.
  • Build confidence through practice, feedback, and expression.

04 / Character, wellbeing & belonging

Relationships and a sense of belonging.

Children learn with greater confidence when they feel they belong. Our vision places caring relationships, character, and social-emotional growth alongside academic development.

  • Character education grounded in I CARE values and everyday choices.
  • Opportunities to practice empathy, responsibility, and resilience.
  • Family partnership that helps us understand the whole child.
Specific curriculum resources, enrichment offerings, schedules, and admissions criteria are still being developed. Programs shown here describe the school’s intended direction. Learning photography is licensed stock imagery used illustratively.
